In determining the style, what is the difference? This hasn't really been covered yet, so I
will hit that briefly here. There are many different species of yeast, and some are sold
dry, some are sold in liquid form. This is a matter of preference, it is said that the liquid
yeast is more active and will "take off" quicker, maybe it is just an opinion?

Besides that, there is a special yeast for each style of beer as well, the yeast imparts a
flavor of its own. Combine this with specialty grains from different regions, the water
chemistry, and so on and that is what it is about.

Here is a list of some of the different names, types and brands of yeast, I have put this
here so that you can see just how vast the choices are! When you order your beer
ingredients from someplace like Austin homebrew supply, the choice won't be that
extreme because if you order ingredients for a pale ale, the choices they will list are for
that style. If you get BeerSmith, it too will help you choose the proper yeast for the style
you choose.
